Hello! My name is Luiz Ferreira. I am a computer scientist from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, with a master’s degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil. In addition to technology, I am passionate about soccer, games, economics, and geopolitics.

My professional journey began as an Information Technology Technician, leading the development of a purchase requisition system and supplier database for all 6 campuses of the university where I worked, implementing the entire IT infrastructure of the new campus.

I worked at Clicksign as a DevOps engineer, where I led the mission of proposing the DevOps culture to a growing team, decoupling a monolith in production and presenting and practicing the three DevOps ways. I performed a migration from ECS to Kubernetes implementation using EKS and created a continuous delivery and continuous integration (CD/CI) pipeline using CodePipeline with CodeBuild and CodeDeploy, and later Buddy.works as the pipeline for all deliveries, TravisCI for executing automated tests, and CodeBuild for image building. I optimized Docker images to reduce build time, from 2 hours (build and tests) to 15 minutes.

At PicPay, I introduced the team to the world of FinOps, propagating a culture focused on increasing efficiency in public cloud infrastructure environments. I focused on monitoring and visibility of application and service costs, as well as developing solutions that contribute to process automation. I was part of the team that designed and implemented a payment platform that currently has more than 15 million users in Brazil.

At iFood, I worked as a member of the team focused on developing a strong culture of cloud efficiency in the current infrastructure. I reviewed processes and optimized work methods, focusing on efficient use of resources, developing solutions that contribute to process automation, and providing visibility to teams, technical or non-technical, so that they have the foundation for decision-making. I was part of the team that designed and implemented a logistics platform that currently has more than 500,000 deliveries per day in Brazil.

Today, I am working as an SRE at Delivery Hero, where my main focus is finding opportunities for efficient development. I led the initiative to implement Kubecost and Infracost and am focused on developing a culture of Chaos Engineering in our development teams as a mandatory part of the application lifecycle.

I develop solutions in Python, Go, and perform data analysis from tools such as Kubecost, Infracost, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, among other various technologies. If you are looking for a professional with vast experience in cloud infrastructure and development of efficient solutions, feel free to contact me!
